The luminescence of nanocrystalline ZnS : Mn2+ indeed demonstrates a brief decay time component (∼one hundred ns), and also a protracted (ms) decay time is observed. The quick decay time is ascribed to the defect-relevant emission of ZnS, and is not with the decay from the changeover of the Mn2+
